Aerospace Group

An Aerospace Group typically consists of 5 Flights and a maintenance detachment. A Fighter Flight will have 4 fighters, an Attack Flight will have 4 ground attack aircraft, and a Support Flight will have either 4 heavy transports or 4 tanker aircraft or a mix of both. What mix of Flights make up a Group will vary from Group to Group.

There are many different types of aircraft in service with the COACC branch of the Efate Army. The standard aircraft for the Fighter Flights has been the F4 Kestral, but already nearly a third have been replaced by the newer F5 Rapier and F6 Starfire as part of an aggressive upgrade program. Attack Flights, too, are being upgraded: half still use the FA14 Scorpion but half now have the newer FA10 Wyvern.
