EFU angered by Lord's "crass" comments. Farmers leaders have angrily criticised COTE leader, Lord Simmons, for suggesting farmers should get part time jobs to make ends meet. The president of the Efate Farmers' Union, Gilban James, also attacked comments that farmers who had lost entire harvests were better off than those who had not. Lord Simmons' comments were "crass over-simplifications", he said, "This proves Lord Simmons is out of touch with reality."
