Vandere violence claims further lives. At least 17 people have been killed in fresh gun battles in the troubled Vandere District. Tanna city police said the militants were killed in the notorious Mitchell community, north of the city. But a spokesman for the Ine Givar claimed ten PSG soldiers also died during the raid on a temporary army camp. Tanna police said nine militants, five civilians, and a soldier were killed in separate shootouts.
