Imperial Marines to help fight farm blazes. About 1,000 Marines are to be drafted in to help 22,000 firefighters who are battling to contain fires north of Tanna. The fire started as deliberate destruction of farmland around Mitchell by the PSG last month, but it is now out of control. Already more than 2,000 square kilometers have now been affected in what is the worst farming disaster in Efatian history. Initial reports of the growing disaster were supressed by government order but those restrictions have now been lifted. The authorities have warned people in the north of Tanna to be ready to leave at a moment's notice as the fires creep closer to homes. Gusting winds and soaring temperatures are hampering firefighting efforts.
