Government offensive targeting militants. The government has sent up to 20,000 regular troops, backed by 150 tanks, into the rural areas of the Vandere District. The operation, the largest non-PSG offensive in 10 years, has rounded up hundreds of suspected Ine Givar militants. Some 30 farm workers (and former farm workers) have died, about 22 of them in a raid on a refugee camp last night. The recently named communities of Click, Honiton, New Jackson, and Upton Pyne are under a communications blackout and no news is available.

A revenge attack saw gunmen kill six shoppers in Tanna Prime.

The government has today been urged to rein in its attacks on rural civilians by Senator Tikktae of the Regina Subsector Senate. In his harshest criticism to date, he said the attacks had been fuelling rural hatred and despair. Senator Tikktae is visiting Efate to consult local Imperial military personnel about the current situation.
