More heavy fighting in Vandere District. There has been more heavy fighting in the Vandere District as government forces push ahead with their military offensive. Government soldiers and Ine Givar backed rebels have exchanged fire in the communities of Click, Honiton, New Jackson, and Upton Pyne.
Fighting has been especially fierce around Honiton where 30 government soldiers have reportedly been killed. An Efate Army spokesman said 44 rebels died as they tried to attack a military base near Tanna Prime. Government sources in Tanna Prime said 20 Ine Givar terrorists were shot dead trying to enter the archology. The Central Committee has denied reports its troops have indiscriminantly attacked rural civilians north of Tanna.
The latest clashes follow the deaths of more than 250 rebels on Friday in one of the bloodiest days since the Ine Givar were created.
