Central Committee denies anti-farmer briefing. A Central Committee spokesman has denied that the government is "engaged in any briefing whatsoever" against farmers. The denial follows an angry response by farmers' leaders at criticisms of large compensation claims over war damage. The Committee's spokesman said the government were not seeking to undermine sympathy for farmers by highlighting huge payouts. Farmers' leaders have said Government suggestions that they should insure against war damage are impractical.
Meanwhile, the funeral of Philip Ned (the Ine Givar activist killed last week) was marred when an unidentified man threw a hand grenade at the morners. No one was killed.
